Newsflash: We have named the baby!!

Howdy ya'll -

It took us two days, but we finally decided on a name for our new little dude: Brody Alexander Nisbet

We had to spend an extra day in the hospital (where the food was great this time but who wants to sit in a hospital for two days!!) to make sure some tests for little Brody came out OK but finally were able to bring him home Monday night.

Stylin' BroMan!!

There was a big wind storm as we brought him back to the house, and an hour after we arrived all the power went out! So we huddled around the fire for a while, and when it looked like it wasn't going to come back on any time soon, grabbed some extra blankets and went to bed. Power finally came back around 8 AM, just in time for breakfast and hot showers!

Camden is enjoying his new little brother, and has been very sweet to him (so far!). He wants one of us to hold the baby when he cries and has hunted down the binky when we've asked him to. Aside from a little jealousy, Camden has been a real trooper as I know this will be a difficult transition for him.

I could not be more pleased with Camden and his growing love for his little brother - I really love my boys!!

As for Mommy, she is settling into the reality of midnight feedings, no sleep, crying babies, poopy diapers, etc - all the usual baby stuff. Good thing she has Camden around to help her????

We are really looking forward to having Brody here and to the wonderful challenges that are ahead for us.
Stay tuned for more to come......

The good, the bad, and the ugly....

Greetings one and all!!

Well, let's start off with the good (as stated in the title to this post)....

Erika, Camden and I are very pleased to announce the arrival of our newest family member: baby boy! Obviously we have not decided on a name, but we're close - REALLY close. Just need to make sure it is absolutely right....

Anyway, baby and mom are both doing well. Our little bundle arrived last night at 7:16 PM after a FAST labor of 2 hrs 11 minutes - yes ladies, you can be jealous of my wife the drive-thru baby-deliverer. He was 19 3/4 in long and weighed 8 lbs 5 oz. So far he is cute, cuddly, and sleeping a lot - which I am sure will change soon (except for the cute and cuddly part). Already done his first official #1 and #2, so looks like all systems are a go. We are so excited for the little dude to finally be here and and cannot wait to take him home!!

BTW - Camden is doing great. He is just getting so big, and we have been having sooo much fun. His vocabulary just gets more and more improved everyday, and I am amazed how much he understands. We have been trying to teach him that he was going to have a little brother, and their first meeting was a really cute, as Camden was awestruck by the little dude in mommy's arms, and was worried about his little crying. The real test will be when the baby comes home - we both hope Camden becomes accustomed to having a new little brother around and develops into a great big brother.

Anyway, things are great for all of us. We have now been in our new house for a year, and maybe one day soon we'll actually move in, throw some paint on the walls, and put up some blinds. Yes folks, we still do not have blinds on all our windows, so either our neighbors are really sick of seeing us walk around in our undies or they really like it. But I digress....
We are so excited to have the baby here and that he is (so far) healthy!!!

Now the bad....
I cannot believe how bad we have been about updating our blog in the past year. It seems like we have talked about adding posts and pictures, but just never got around to doing it. I know the 2 or 3 people that actually see this thing would have liked to know whats going on in our lives, and see pictures of Camden and the wife when she was pregnant. Well, let me see if I can give you a quick update:
House is good, really enjoying it. Work is busy, lots going on as usual. Pregnancy was a little bit of a surprise, but it went well although Erika was a bit more run down this time around - probably had something to do with trying to chase a 2 year old around while pregnant. Camden continues to amaze as he grows and develops into a cool little kid. We have had so much fun walking around our neighborhood throwing rocks, chasing cats, and finding frogs. Not to mention playing with the neighborhood kids. He had his 2nd birthday last month and I know will be just a great big brother.

So we are sorry that we haven't been good bloggers - yes, we have been very bad indeed.
And finally the ugly....
The US tax code. Is there any more convoluted, misconceived, and ineffective document in use today? Volumes of worthless laws that usually don't apply to most of us. And political ads! What is the deal with spending billions of dollars on ads that tell the American people that this person or that person will work hard to reduce the debt and lower taxes? Why don't they outlaw political advertisements and make lobby groups, political activists, and rich party contributors donate all that extra cash they have to burn on utter nonsense and put it in the US treasury coffers to help reduce the national debt, pay for education and healthcare, etc? Ok, I've had my ugly soapbox moment, I'm better now.

Well, we are so grateful for all our friends and family members that have continued to offer their love and support to our growing little family. We love and appreciate all of you, and cannot wait to have you meet our newest addition!
Love always,

Aaron, Erika, Camden, and "Baby Boy" Nisbet

So what's the BIG DEAL????

Here we are 10 months later after we bought our home and many of you know already and those who don't, we are anouncing that we are pregnant and have been for the last 5 months. Which really means that we are anouncing what kind of pregnancy... (drum roll)

We are having...

A...

BABY!!!!! Yeah!!!

I know last time many of you heard we were having a dragon, however that was only because of our infertility treatments. And luckily it turned out that we actually had a healthy baby, with little reminance of a tail.

This time, because everything happened naturally and as a surprise, we know it is a baby. (I hope...)

So that is our big announcement... I hope you are happy and excited for us. Thank you for all of your support over the years and that is all for now.

WHAT!!! Were you expecting something more?

Did I forget to mention that it's a...

If you can't read the ultrasound,

it says "BABY BOY"!!!
