What?... Where have we been?...

So here we are, a couple of months into the new year and we have not posted anything to our blog. Sorry folks!!! :) We are the worst bloggers EVER!!!

I'm sure this picture will soften your hearts and forgive us...

In order to compensate for the lack of blogging, below are missing chapters to our lives in the Nisbet home.

Trouble with Bedtime

It's been a little struggle getting him to sleep throughout the night, but last night he slept for the first time from 9:30pm til 5am. I still was anxious and couldn't sleep because I kept anticipating him waking up around midnight and 3 am. He only squirmed a little bit then around 2 am I heard him get fussy. I waited about 10 mins then went in to check on him. I was really quiet to make sure he didn't hear me, and when I saw him, he was shaking his head with a really sad fussy look. When I looked closer, I saw that his eyes were closed and felt really bad that he was having a bad dream. So Saddies! Fortunately, he calmed down when I placed my hand on his chest and didn't fuss the rest of the night. Actually it worked so well last night, that when he woke up in the morning he was entertaining himself and never got fussy. He was actually a pretty happy baby today. :)

Happy 4 Months!!!

Yesterday was his 4 month Birthday and with that he had his 4 month check up and shots. You ask what his stats are? Weight is 16lbs. 5oz. (85%), Head is 42 1/4" (50-75%), Height 27" this is the kicker he is in the 97% for his height. So far he is right on track for those sports scholarships. YEAH!!!

Grandma Pehrson's Visit

Life is pretty good right now. Grandma Pehrson was here visiting for a few weeks and was able to get to know our little bug. She was wonderful. We have lots of extra food in the freezer that's easy to warm up and serve. Yummy!!! It was also quite the education for me. Raising 6 kids, having 7 grandkids I think would definitely make her the expert. She worked with Camden in ways I never thought of and watched how quickly he progressed with her "exercises, flips, and other things." The books talk about how to give a baby massage, but until I watched my mom give one to Camden , I never realized how much he loves to be rubbed down, especially his feet and hands.

Funny Story...

So our friends Will, Jen and their son Preston came over to our house one weekend. Preston seemed really facinated with Camden's feet.

As we faced the two boys in front of eachother Preston immediately focused on Camden's feet and preceeded to take his socks off.

Later that evening Camden was sitting in his bumbo seat in front of Preston.

Preston again focused on Camden's feet he preceeded to start to taste our son's feet.

I never laughed so hard.... :)
Apparently he enjoyed the snack!

Christmas 2008

Snow on Christmas Day!!!

Christmas was great this year. We had family and a friend spend the Holiday with us, plus it was Camden's first Christmas. Here we are...

Aaron, Erika, and Camden

(He doesn't look too happy.)

Then we have Greg (Brother-in-law) and Jayne (Sister)

Dewayne (Jayne and Greg's Friend)

Present Time...

Pictures were the popular gift this year...

Dewayne was a little bit of a surprise for Christmas day, but we were able to find some extra goodies for him to unwrap too... (Trade Show give aways... I always knew my marketing job would come in handy.) Everyone seems happy!

Camden hit the jackpot when it came to presents... How could you not spoil such a cute kid?

Picture Time

So here are some of the many hundreds of pictures we have taken. Camden is truly the apples of our eyes. He is very particular when it comes to sleeping and eating and he loves to complain, but the best times are when we get him to giggle. He has the best laugh. We love him so much.

Daddy and Son. So Cute!! I love my boys!

Nap time!

I'm even cute when I sleep...

Tummy time is the worst time ever!!!!

I love this picture. Camden is so cuddley!

Camden in his pink tutu! I told Aaron I would buy Camden a tutu even though he was a boy! The proof is in the picture... :) Ha Ha! I think this one is for the album I show his future girlfriends. :)

Maybe it won't be a sports scholarship... Ha Ha!
I guess he's not into the tutu! Cross your fingers for baseball.

No matter what he wears he is still so DANG CUTE!!!

I love to eat my Pooh Bear!!!

Our son already knows how to pray...

"Please find me a new family. Amen"

Gearing up for the Baseball Season... Go Mariners!

Caught on film... he is definitely starting to become a professional at grabbing things. Yeah Camden!

Life is too short to not take lots of pictures. That's all for now!!!!

Waaaaaay behind!

Hi all -

Well, seems as if there was a rift in the space-time continuum, leading to a huge gap in our updates on this thing. Sorry!! I would say we will try to be better, but its probably not going to happen...

The holiday season is here, and we have been busy-busy. Thanksgiving jump started our celebrations, as Erika's parents drove up from California and joined us and Erika's sister/brother-in-law (the newlyweds) for a nice dinner.

A week later, we had more family in town (Grammy Marsha and Great Grandma) for Camden's blessing. It was really nice to have everyone there for this important event, and Camden performed just as we had rehearsed - slept right through the whole thing! A big thanks to all who were able to attend and support us in this very special occasion.

Camden continues to eat (a lot!!) and grow, although seeing him everyday makes it hard to notice. Erika took Camden down to California a few weeks ago, his first big road trip. After being gone a few days, I could notice a bit of a difference in his size. And I learned the very real lesson of being away from the Bug - even a few days seemed like an eternity!!

If you haven't heard the latest, the Seattle area has been pummeled with some unusual snow - enough to make life difficult for someone (me) who needs to drive around a lot for work. But I'm not really complaining, because I do love a good snowstorm - and to drive around in the slick stuff! Bug has been extra cuddly during the past few days, which I would like to attribute to the frosty stuff outside. Erika and I both love to have him snuggled up to us sleeping; unfortunately, he has gotten very accustomed to this and is in a phase of "I-need-to-be-snuggled-and-held-to sleep" phase - very annoying when you would like to sleep too! But, i guess its better than the 3-5 hours of straight up crying. which we haven't had to deal with yet (knock on wood)....

This week is Christmas, little Bug's first, and we'll be celebrating here at home. We are looking forward to this day and the opportunity to begin our own family traditions and continue some we have already started. We got Camden a stocking for Santa to fill up Christmas morning, and if you're out there Santa, I would like to apologize - this thing is monstrous, so unless you have a SUV for him this year, you'll need some good loot to fill that sucker up!

To sum up: we're good, Camden is good, Christmas is here, and there's a strong possibility of a white Christmas this year - gravy!!

("I want a Range Rover Santa" - can you resist this? I bet not!!)

Merry Christmas and Happy New Year!

Camden update

Editor's note: I just found this post I was working on back in November - better late then never as they say!

Howdy y'all -

Been a while since we put anything on the "world's worst blog" (PC Magazine, November 2008), so i decided to just post some pictures of Bug - after all, he's the reason anyone checks up on this anyway:

We are all doing well, busy in our new family lifestyle and continuing to adapt to the challenges of raising a youngster. Camden is growing like a weed, probably because he eats 30-40 times a day. This tires mommy out considerably, but dad is sorry to admit that he actually likes it - especially when the dude is 6'6' and 240 lbs of pure raw power! Or, you know, whatever....

Settling in with the little dude

So I'm just sitting here with Bug on my lap (of course he is in a milk-induced drugged-out coma) checking emails when I realize it has been a long time since we posted an update. I quickly log onto the blog and spin the dude around so I can type somewhat effectively. He wiggles a bit to get back to a comfy position, and opens his eyes to glare at me for disturbing his sleepy. "What do you think?" I ask him.

"Lots of folks have asked for more pictures" Camden says to me with a toot and a wink, waking up a bit more as he adjusts himself again on my lap.

"You're a pretty cute little feller, and photos are great" I say, "but we need some meat, not just fluff. What else would you like to put in this update?"

"Duh dad, more pictures of me!" he cries back.

"Shouldn't I tell them that you are doing well, gaining some weight, and sleeping a lot? How about the times you are awake and playing with your parents. Or watching football and Ghosthunters on TV. I think people would like to know that you have gone out to eat, gone shopping at the mall, and dressed up for a Halloween party. Plus, you've continued to improve your skills at spraying down rooms with the little sprinkler, and created many a fresh poopy diaper for your daddy to change?" I chide him, half expecting a class 3 blowout for mentioning the diaper bit.

"How about you just put out the photos and let the pictures do the talking" he replies sharply, "and keep the peeing and pooping stuff to yourself!"

"You're the boss, bug; I will do your bidding as long as you stay so cute and cuddly." I stick a binky in his mouth to help him find dreamland again. "Here you go!"

Hanging with the ol' man

Hey there, wanna play with me?

Daddy gets some cuddly time

Check out my green sockies - so cool!!
